The Challenge

Science Logic was relying solely on LinkedIn Ads to drive awareness and engagement, but costs were high and reach was limited. After three months of LinkedIn-only campaigns, the goal was to identify a way to scale reach more efficiently without significantly increasing spend.

The Solution

Obility introduced Reddit Ads alongside the existing LinkedIn strategy, strategically targeting highly relevant subreddits including r/ITManagers, r/cloudcomputing, and r/devops.We also utilized Reddit targeting by mirroring high-performing Google Search keyword themes such as “IT analytics,” “IT monitoring,” and “enterprise IT”.

Then to further expand audience reach, we leveraged Reddit’s interest targeting capabilities to engage users interested in programming, engineering, computer hardware, software, and apps. This layered targeting approach allowed us to maintain quality while dramatically increasing scale.

The Results

Comparing the three months of LinkedIn-only campaigns to the following three months of LinkedIn + Reddit campaigns, performance improved significantly:

  • Total impressions increased from 2M to 23.8M
  • Clicks grew from 7.2K to 85K
  • CPC dropped from $15.15 to $2.00 — an 87% decrease!
  • Spend comparison: LinkedIn totaled $270,014 while Reddit delivered substantial incremental reach for only $9,578

By incorporating Reddit into the paid media mix, Obility dramatically expanded reach, increased engagement volume, and reduced costs while maintaining strong audience alignment through thoughtful targeting and creative strategy.
